  • …a rising phenom; saxophonist – Mohen Cox – styles his musical compositions as “Moe’ments of Sax.” They are designed for maximum positive impact, tapping into your emotions, creating meaningful connections, with you, “through the language of music” according to Stevie Wonder’s “Sir Duke.”

His instrument of choice, a composite of brass and woodwind, communicates clarion notes of nonverbal speech in a variety of musical categories influenced by his hybrid Jamaican – Turks and Caicos heritage.

“I’ve really been into music, all genres and styles for as long as I can remember. I spent a lot of my time learning how to produce music and that intrigued me for a very long time, studying different styles of music and what makes them different in terms of mixing but ultimately my passion lives with performing music.”

Mohen credits the influences of Kenny G, Charlie Parker, Jeff Antoniuk, Louis Armstrong, Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald,Sam Cooke, Frank Sinatra, Kirk Whalum and Adrian Parry with his approach to developing his career in music production and felt constrained him to learn an instrument. “I’ve heard about the saxophone, but it was not until I held one at a brass band rehearsal I decided that the saxophone was going to be the instrument I wanted to play. I started hearing it everywhere in all kinds of music and spending a ton of time listening to artists that play saxophones aspiring to be one of the greats.”

Moe is well-versed in a variety of musical styles, including jazz, blues, soul, and pop, and can tailor his performances to suit the unique needs and preferences of each client.
